Adult Tutoring is a program that provides trained volunteers to work individually with adults 18 and over who can speak and understand English and who read and/or write below a Grade Nine level. 

The program provides:


  • One on one tutoring sessions for 2-4 hours a week for at least 6 months
  • A library of learning and resource materials
  • Small group workshops
  • Opportunity for the student to meet other students at the Centre

  • Better job opportunities for the students

Challenges
Challenges is programming for adults who face multiple barriers to learning, including a developmental delay.

The program provides:

  • One on one tutoring sessions
  • Literacy workshops focusing on topics such as Readers Theatre, Everyday Learning and Reading and Writing

  • Students increase or maintain their literacy skills
  • Better health, financial and employment opportunities
  • Students gain self-esteem and peer acceptance
