Adult Tutoring is a program that provides trained volunteers to work individually with adults 18 and over who can speak and understand English and who read and/or write below a Grade Nine level.
|
- One on one tutoring sessions for 2-4 hours a week for at least 6 months
- A library of learning and resource materials
- Small group workshops

for the student to meet other students at the Centre

- Students gain self confidence
- Students’ reading and writing skills improve
- Better job opportunities for the students

Challenges is programming for adults who face multiple barriers to learning, including a developmental delay.
- One on one tutoring sessions
- Literacy workshops focusing on topics such as Readers Theatre, Everyday Learning and
Reading
and Writing

- Students increase or maintain their literacy skills
- Better health, financial and employment opportunities
- Students gain self-esteem and peer acceptance
